KHWCC is an independent international watchmaking school in Le Locle, Switzerland. Contrary to most other watchmaking schools in Switzerland, in KHWCC they teach in English rather than French or German.
Early this November, I asked KHWCC if they would agree to a spontaneous interview and Henrik Korpela, who is the director, main instructor and a watchmaking teacher of 14 years, was kind enough to agree. Henrik is fun to hang out with, but most importantly: very instructive and passionate about teaching. Two of his students have even gone off to teach in WOSTEP.
Join us, while we discuss the school, the studies and get down to the fundamentals of watchmaking. You might also discover some valuable watchmaking know-how and little nitty-gritty details that you’d never had heard of otherwise. We discuss subjects like Henrik’s career, watchmaking tools, custom watch parts, how Geneva stripes are made and many more.
